The war in Afghanistan has been rife with overspending and waste, which is good news for defense contractors and mercenaries, and bad news for the American public-- 45 million of whom live in poverty in the richest country in the world. So why is there always money for war, but never enough money to meet basic human needs in the wealthiest country in the world?
