We just passed this super regressive tax that specifically excludes privileged drinks like Starbucks' Unicorn Frappe.

Disappointed with Mike O'Brien for his vote. I would have preferred to see us exclusively tax Unicorn Frappes.

The article failed to mention that there is a "latte component" to the soda tax. Even sugary lattes and frappuccinos will increase by 1.75 cents per ounce. But yes, I agree that Unicorn Frappes should have been taxed even more, since they contain more sugar in one beverage than a large bottle of regular Coca Cola.

And apparently we're supposed to be ok with it because the 💰 is supposedly going to go to educating poor people. So it's ok to take money from poor people if we use it to educate them about why their lives are impure? This kind of arrogant paternalism is what gives liberals a bad name.
