During the UFC athletes retreat in Las Vegas, top UFC women’s featherweight fighter Cris Cyborg confronted veteran strawweight Angela Magana over some cruel social media posts that she had recently posted online.
Cyborg demanded that Magana show her some respect and when Angela failed to oblige things got heated.
Cris ended up punching Magana in the mouth during the altercation and Angela has since pressed charges against the Brazilian standout for her actions.
While clearly hitting another athlete outside of the cage is wrong, many fellow fighters have come to the defense of Cyborg believing that Magana got what was coming to her.
Angela Magana had posted numerous derogatory photos and captions on social media attacking Cris Cyborg which of course spawned a ton of emotions from the most feared women’s fighter on the planet.
In the above video with TMZ, former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar weighed in on the Cyborg and Magana incident stating the following:
“You run your mouth and sometimes someone is going to check it for you. That is what it is. I don’t see how a fighter can press charges for getting hit. That is kind of crazy to me. Especially if you run your mouth.”
Frankie Edgar was last seen in action earlier this month at UFC 211 where he scored an impressive victory over surging featherweight contender Yair Rodriguez.
