On November 4, the UFC will return to the combat sports stronghold of Madison Square Garden, in the heart of beautiful New York City. It will do so with the stacked UFC 217, which could be the biggest MMA card of the year.
In the UFC 217 main event, UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping will attempt to defend his title against former UFC welterweight king Georges St-Pierre. The bout will mark Bisping’s second attempted title defense, while it will be St-Pierre’s first fight since November of 2013, and first fight ever at middleweight.
The co-main event of the evening, meanwhile, will pit bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt against a dangerous challenger in former champion TJ Dillashaw. This bout will serve as the crescendo of the pair’s time as opposing coaches on a recent season of The Ultimate Fighter.
Amazingly, that is not where the UFC 217 title fights end. The card will also feature a third title fight, as dominant UFC strawweight queen Joanna Jedrzejczyk attempts her sixth-straight defense opposite long-time contender Rose Namajunas.
Other highlights of the UFC 218 card include a possible welterweight number one contender fight between Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson and Jorge “Gamebred” Masvidal, a lightweight scrap between Joe Duffy and James Vick, a middleweight bout between former welterweight champ Johny Hendricks and the undefeated Paulo Borrachinha, a heavyweight showdown between rising contenders Curtis Blaydes and Oleksiy Oleynik, a welterweight bout between rising stars Mickey Gall and Randy Brown, and a light heavyweight battle between wrestlers Corey Anderson and Patrick Cummins.
Needless to say, this is one of the biggest cards of the year. And now, we’ve got the official poster for it. See it below!
