Tonight’s press conference, which took place from the Barclay’s Center in New York, failed to deliver when compared to the world tours two previous stops in Los Angeles and Toronto.
With that said, tonight’s event still had some memorable moments which included Conor McGregor paying tribute to The Notorious Biggie Smalls with a short rap, and Floyd Mayweather throwing a ton of one dollar bills on “Mystic Mac” while stating that the Irish superstar was his “hoe” and adding that Dana White was Conor’s “pimp”.
In addition, the world tour also had it’s first scuffle between teams, as Floyd Mayweather’s crew surrounded Conor McGregor which caused some pushing and shoving to ensue.
In the lead up to today’s press conference in Brooklyn, a few different media sites went after the current UFC lightweight champion, Conor McGregor, with accusations of racism.
Those outlets cited the fact that “The Notorious” has been referring to Floyd Mayweather as “boy” during this four-stop world tour and attempted to use some previous statements made by McGregor in the past to backup their claims.
Well, the brash Irish star addressed those accusations today with the following statement.
“Let’s address the race. A lot of the media seem to be saying that I am against black people. That is absolutely f*cking ridiculous! Do they not know that I am half black? Yeah! I am half black from the belly button down. And just to show that that’s squashed, here is a little present for my beautiful black female fans.”
The Mayweather vs McGregor bout will take place August 26 live from the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
