Alternative schooling resource Original Path expands horizons via Maven

SEATTLE -- Dedicated to helping teens identify alternatives to conventional schooling, Original Path is now on digital media coalition Maven (ticker symbol MVEN).

"Maven is an ideal platform for building communities based on thoughtful dialogue,” said Original Path co-owner and founder Michael Strong. “The functionality of the platform is amazingly flexible for the diverse purposes we envision in our combined educational and social community. We look forward to creating a great space for teens who want to take charge of their own learning."

With the understanding that not all learners learn the same way, Original Path is an online channel and community sharing information to empowering teens and families to find their own path outside the traditional education system, including homeschooling, unschooling, learning clubs, online school and internships.

Author of Conscious Culture Through Educational Innovation, Strong is an entrepreneur and experienced educator passionate about education and creating innovative K-12 programs. Original Path is his latest endeavor, which he hopes will inspire teens to pursue alternative types of education that directly suit their talents and learning needs.

“The passion that Michael and the creators of Original Path bring to their channel is exactly what we’re looking for as we build Maven’s coalition,” said Maven CEO James Heckman. “With their wisdom and passion for alternative education methods, and our tools to help them build community, we believe they will create a significant, passionate audience.”

Maven is a coalition of mavens operating on a shared digital publishing, advertising and distribution platform, unified under a single media brand. Based in Seattle, Maven is publicly traded under the ticker symbol MVEN.
