I think when people don't believe the same things we do it's often best to quote Morpheus from the Matrix and remind ourselves "my beliefs do not require them to." Like you said, Brian, it's a good idea to think on it because they may have a point, but often times they just don't like what you do or how you do it because your role on the planet is yours not theirs.

@Ibrindley No kidding! I speak in lots of colleges and there's certainly no shortage of controversy and diversity. Sometimes I think we should take what other say and think on it, but at the same time know our own mission and standards and not bend them to make others happy. I'm 32 years old now and have concluded if I can't be happy, then whats the point of life? We've gotta do what makes us happy and seek to serve & help other people in the process. ;)

@meiosis I think its natural to seek acceptance (and necessary for survival sake). But that only goes so far. Many, if not most, people don't seem to know where to draw the line and let go. It's a skill we develop and have to use carefully.

I have to say, I did not really face haters until college when I came across many who disagreed with me in classes, on my work ethic, my priorities in life, etc. As you said, there is nothing I could do about that, so I just focused on people who supported me and often agreed with me a good portion of the time. Great video!

This is good stuff Brian. I sometimes find myself seeking others' approval or acceptance while losing sight of the fact that what they think is out of my control.
