You're already in business, you just don't know it ...
Life is simple ... It ain't easy, but it's simple. And yet, each and every one of us tries our damnedest to make it complex. We analyze and we analyze and we analyze until what should be a simple thing becomes overwhelming.
So it is with starting a business.
As you begin to entertain the thought of venturing out in your own business, you feel a rush of excitement as your mind sees the possible future of a desired life you hope to achieve. Then ...
Let's just say, you begin to ask the six Ws:
- Who am I to pull something like this off?
- What kind of set up and equipment do I need?
- When will I be ready to actually do it?
- Where will I get the money to get started?
- Why would anyone want to be my customer?
- How do I even begin to find customers?
These are valid questions, don't get me wrong. And answering them will help you be better prepared, but many potential business owners I know use these questions as a crutch and excuse for not going anywhere with their ideas. They begin to see all the reasons for why they can't run a business. And thus, the life they desire remains simply a dream.
I don't want that for you, my brothers and sisters in freedom. And so I ask you to consider what I'm about to say.
The fact is, you already have what it takes to be a business owner. Really, you do! I say this because the fact is, no matter if you are working for somebody else, looking for a job, you are married or dating someone, have kids, or just generally participate in society on any level, you are in business, and your product is yourself.
Think about every time you have influenced someone to go to that restaurant you wanted to try, or to watch that show on TV you thought was so cool, or bought that car because of your advice, or you got the job ... The same principles you used in all of those situations are relevant, just more pronounced, in business.
So if you wonder, "Can I be successful in my own business?" I ask you, are you able to convince people of your point of view when you truly believe it's in their best interest to see it your way? If so, you've already have a core foundation for business success. You just simply need to navigate the questions. And that is something the team here is able to help with.
